Green Tea Date Vegan Jello Recipe
Discover the delightful fusion of flavors in this Green Tea Date Vegan Jello, a stunning dessert that combines the rich sweetness of dates with the earthy freshness of Sencha Green Tea. Do you know Agar? It’s made with seaweed and works like gelatine but is plant-based. When I was a kid, I enjoyed “Anmitsu,” a popular dessert made with “Kanten.” Kanten, the Japanese name for Agar, is translucent like gelatine but firmer and firms up quicker without refrigeration, making it ideal for layered jello. This dessert not only tastes amazing but is also visually striking with its beautiful two layers of brown and green, creating a feast for both the eyes and the palate.
The preparation of this vegan jello is as convenient as it is impressive. The date layer, enhanced with ground Sencha powder or decaffeinted Sencha for those that are caffein sensitive, it melds perfectly with the creamy avocado and green tea layer, offering a delightful contrast in both flavor and texture. The use of agar ensures that the layers set quickly and maintain their shape, allowing you to make this dessert ahead of time. As it sits, the flavors deepen and become sweeter, making it even more delicious after a few days. Perfect for a make-ahead treat, this jello is easy to prepare and store, ready to impress your guests with its unique taste and elegant presentation.
