Premium Organic Powdered Sencha Teas
Discover the Bright Taste of Yu Sencha
Crafted with the utmost respect for tradition and purity, our Organic Sencha Powder has been our signature tea since 2004, made from first-harvest leaves. Gram for gram, it has slightly more EGCG than our matcha and about half the caffeine (from our most recent batch testing; results vary by lot and packaging).
Grown in full sun, then steamed, rolled and stone-milled into a fine powder, each leaf goes into your cup whole. We also offer a decaffeinated version, decaffeinated with water alone, for those sensitive to caffeine.

Taste
The taste of Yu Sencha Powder is a palate-pleasing journey - an intricate mosaic of flavors. It greets you with a delicate grassy note, followed by a velvety wave of umami that dances across the tongue, a signature trait of premium Sencha. The balance is immaculate, neither overwhelming nor underwhelming, but a harmonious chord that resonates with the sophistication of simplicity.
Aroma
Inhale and be enveloped by the fresh, clean scent reminiscent of a dew-kissed meadow at dawn. The aroma is a bridge between the earth and your senses, a subtle yet distinct fragrance that calms the mind and alerts the senses, preparing you for the invigorating experience of the first sip.

Color
Pour a cup and watch the magic unfold - a luminescent green hue that captivates the eye. It is not just a color; it's a sign of fresh, carefully made tea. The clarity and brightness speak of the quality and care with which our tea is produced and delivered to you.

What's in a Serving
A serving of our Sencha has about 98 mg of catechins, including about 65 mg of EGCG, and about 20 mg of caffeine (from our most recent batch testing; results vary by lot and packaging). What sencha is, how it is made and what is in it is explained in our sencha guide. Our decaf version, at about 4 mg of caffeine a serving, lets you enjoy the ritual any time of day.
