This hearty split pea soup will help warm you on any cool fall or winter day!

Ingredients
1 ½ c Dried Split Peas green, yellow or mix
- 32 oz Chicken Broth
1 - 2 c Water check thickness as cooking
- 1 large Turnip or Potato, peeled and diced
- 1 large Carrot, chopped in ¼ size pieces
- 2 large stalks Celery, sliced
- ½ Sweet Onion, chopped
- 1 tsp Celery Seed
- ¼ tsp Sea Salt
- ¼ tsp Mixed Ground Pepper
- ⅛ tsp Dried Red Pepper, finely chopped optional
1 - 1 ½ c Ham, diced optional
¼ - ½ tsp Yu Sencha Powder
2 Tbsp Parsley, fresh chopped
Directions
Wash Peas and simmer until soft
- Once peas are soft add: turnip or peeled potato, diced carrot, sliced celery sticks, sweet onion, celery seed, sea salt, mixed ground pepper
- Optional: Add finely chopped dried red pepper and diced ham or chicken
Add above to soup and simmer 15 to 45 minutes. Check and stir.
Before serving add: Yu Sencha Powder and fresh chopped parsley.
